Introduction Post

Welcome to our blog! Thank you in advance for taking the time to visit :) We are excited to finally start a blog and share our adventures and thoughts with our family and friends. I have wanted to start a blog for quite some time, but I always hesitate because I have so many ideas of what I want to include and I don’t know where to start. I have finally decided just to begin writing and let the blog develop, so welcome to a work in progress! Suggestions are always welcome;)

Evan and I are currently living in Jacksonville, Florida (details of our trip and summer to follow in upcoming posts). We love it here so far! The people are very friendly and the beach is 10 minutes away. What more could we ask for? Sometimes it feels like a very long honeymoonJ We have a great ward and are excited to begin serving in our new area!

Evan is working as an intern at Johnson and Johnson Vision Care, also known as Vistakon.  Vistakon manufactures and distributes Acuvue contact lenses.  So to all of you that wear Acuvue contact lenses… you’re welcome :) He is a finance co-op whose responsibilities include consolidating financial information in preparation for monthly and quarterly close, analyzing and reporting forecast data as part of the annual business cycle, and other ad hoc analytics relating to NTS, SNI, and MNI.  In other words, he plays on Excel all day :) This is a six-month internship and as Evan applied and interviewed for this position, we felt very good about it. We are confident that this is the place where we are supposed to be at this time in our lives and we are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead here.

I am currently in the business of job hunting, which has been fabulous of courseJ Through the applications and search, I have enjoyed having a little extra time each day to settle in, read, and write. I am looking forward to working here and meeting new people through my employment opportunity. Patience is a virtue, and job hunting has definitely helped me work on this important attributeJ

Evan and I have been married for year this month and we have loved being able to learn and grow from each other. We have fallen in love more each day and we continue to experience fun adventures and moments together. We enjoy playing games, laughing, reading scriptures, and hanging out on the beach. Jacksonville has given us the opportunity to explore and discover new places. Our faith has been strengthened as we have served together, worked together, and relied on the Lord together in all things. We are grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives and the plan of salvation, which makes it possible for us to develop our forever family. We are confident that we have many great things in store this summer!
